Eligibility Criteria
Students who have completed their 10 +2 education with science as their major subject are eligible to apply for Bachelor of Physiotherapy course. The candidate should have pursued the Science stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as their main subjects. A Minimum aggregate score of 50% or equivalent at 10+2 level is mandatory for admission. Some universities in India conduct an entrance test for admitting students for the BPT course. Some of these entrance examinations are CET, JIPMER all India entrance test, Guru Govind Indraprastha University Physiotherapy entrance exam, etc.
Candidates seeking admission to Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) need to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria listed below:
- Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
- The candidate should have pursued science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as main subjects.
- A minimum aggregate score of 50% or equivalent CGPA at the 10+2 level (45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates)
ADMISSION PROCESS
In case of reputed institutes, the admission process follows the rule of ‘merit based admission’. Seats are allotted to eligible candidates on the basis of marks scored by students in the 12th Science board examination as well as entrance test (State/National/held by Institute). Some institutes also have a minimum marks criteria, which students have to satisfy, to be considered eligible to take part in the admission process. Minim marks criteria is usually around 50% marks aggregate in PCB (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) subjects in 12th board examination.
