BSc Nursing is a 4-year undergraduate course in the field of healthcare. The students who have passed class 12th with biology or have completed a diploma in Nursing are eligible to apply for the course. The aim of the course is to prepare students to serve humanity through medical treatment along with the quality of affection. The course is centered around people and society, focusing on attaining, maintaining, and recovering optimal health and quality of life. Most of the colleges offer the course within a duration of 4 years along with 1 year as a junior staff nurse. It is basically the art of nursing the sick and the wounded and thus the curriculum includes subjects related to the human body like anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, nutrition, psychology, etc.
There are 2 types of B.Sc Nursing offered. One is basic which is 4-years and the other is post-basic for 2 years. There are various job prospects for BSc Nursing graduates. Some of the options they can choose are Clinical nurse in government or private hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, health departments, medical services of the army, Nurse educators, Nurse researchers in research institutes or Nurse managers or administrators in hospitals. After BSc Nursing the graduates can go for MSc Nursing. Some other courses available are MSc Clinical Research and MBA in Hospital Administration

BSc Nursing Eligibility

The institutes have different eligibility criteria for their entrance exams. All the entrance examinations don't have the same eligibility. The most basic requirements for BSc Nursing entrance exams are mentioned below:-

  • Students should have passed class 12th with a minimum of 45% in Physics, Chemistry, Biology.
  • English is also a mandatory subject in class 12th
